Alex Eala made the cut for the Qualifying Rounds of the Australian Open, marking her first entry into a major Grand Slam on the pro-level.
Just a few minutes ago, Alex Eala proudly posted on her social media accounts announcing that she has made the cut for the Qualifying Rounds of the 2023 Australian Open in Melbourne. Although Alex Eala has already competed in major Grand Slams in the past, including her recent US Open Junior Championship, this acceptance into the Qualifying Rounds of the Australian Open marks the first time that she will be entering a Grand Slam on the professional level.
Throughout the past year, the Filipina tennis champ has been focusing on building her career as a professional, competing in the ITF Circuit. With her efforts, she has been able to climb up the rankings, this year reaching an ITF career-high rank of 267 and a WTA ranking of 214. Now, she will be playing against some of the best in the world for the chance of competing in one of the major Grand Slams.
