AP.Bren is Back on the International Stage as First Filipino Representatives for M5 World Championships

It’s another chance for one more international trophy for the Hive.

The Philippines welcomes its first representatives to the M5 World Championships as AP.Bren takes down Blacklist International in MPL PH S12 playoffs. The Hive are returning to the M series after winning it all back in M2 in 2021.

AP.Bren first had to face a surging RSG Philippines in the upper bracket Semifinals. RSG was coming in hot after a 3-0 sweep against Omega Esports and looked ready to take on any team. It was a long and drawn out series but in the end, AP.Bren clinched the victory 3-2.

Entering the upper bracket finals with them was Blacklist who had just gotten an upset win against reigning world champions ECHO. It looked like it was going to be another battle of attrition but it was anything but. In dominant fashion, AP.Bren swept aside Blacklist 3-0 and punching in their tickets to M5.

This is a triumphant return to form for the star-studded team who struggled during the regular season. “Finocus talaga namin ang disiplina namin,” said AP.Bren’s Angelo “Pheww” Arcangel on the team’s preparations for the playoffs. “Majority ng mga talo namin ay dahil sa comebacks… kaya nag-practice talaga kami respetuhin ang kalaban.”

With this victory, AP.Bren has another chance to win an international tournament except this time on home soil. After achieving gold in the 2023 SEA Games and becoming the WEC champions, the AP.Bren is on the precipice of becoming the undisputed Mobile Legends champions with a win in the M5 World Championships.

“It’s kind of humbling that we’re in this spot,” said coach Francis “Ducky” Glindro. “It’s a chance to prove ourselves, to achieve something that’s even greater than ourselves.”

The team still has one last hurdle as they have the MPL PH S12 grand finals waiting for them on Sunday.
