AP.Bren Start the Year Right as the Games of the Future Champions

The Mobile Legends world champs just can’t stop winning.

AP.Bren continues to show the world that they’re better than great as they become the Games of the Future Mobile Legends champions. Held in Kazan Expo, Russia, the M5 world champions cruised their way to victory last Sunday, March 3.

Sixteen of the best Mobile Legends teams were invited to Russia for the first major tournament of the year. AP.Bren and Blacklist International represented the Philippines while Indonesia’s M5 grand finalists ONIC Esports were present as well. Crowd favorites Deus Vult, RRQ Hoshi, and Burn x Flash were present as well.

The Philippine teams showed their dominance by progressing through the group stages undefeated. RRQ and ONIC left top of their group as well, ensuring the possibility of a M5 grand finals runback.

AP.Bren cruised their way through playoffs, having only one game defeat against RRQ in the semifinals. This was a rather bittersweet victory for AP.Bren as former assistant coach Vrendon “Vren” Pesebre is now heading RRQ. Together with star Pinoy Jungler John “Irrad” Abarquez, formerly from RSG Philippines, RRQ put up one of the most exciting matches in the tournament.

Blacklist on the other hand suffered a massive upset against Fire Flux Esports as the Turkish squad swept the agents 2-0 in the quarter finals. While this was disappointing for the rebuilding Blacklist, this served as revenge for Fire Flux for getting eliminated from M5.

Grand finals unsurprisingly ended up with AP.Bren versus ONIC, the two strongest Mobile Legends teams in the world. With both teams remaining relatively the same since M5, it was another world championship showing at Russia. In the end, AP.Bren was once again able to triumph over ONIC and become the Games of the Future champions.
