Novak Djokovic is crowned the King of Melbourne, winning his 10th title in the Australian Open with a three-set sweep.

Novak Djokovic added another Australian Open trophy to his collection, winning his 10th title in the Grand Slam.

After beating Stefanos Tsitsipas in the three-set final, the Serbian is the winningest player on the Australian Open stage.

On top of this, his win also marks his 22nd Grand Slam win, equaling Rafael Nadal’s record for most titles in the men’s history of the open era. With this, he also brings his rank back to World No. 1.

The King of Melbourne

Novak Djokovic came out of the gates strong to claim the first set quickly, 6-3.

In the second set, the energy between both players on the court looked to be evened out. With the score up to 6-6, the two athletes went into a tiebreak. However, it was Djokovic who came out victorious, 7-4, to give himself a vital two-set advantage coming into the next.

The third set saw both players matching each other, game for game, going all the way up to 6-6 for another tiebreak. Djokovic was fighting to win the last set he needed for the title, while Tsitsipas was fighting to stay alive in the match.

Ultimately, the 35-year-old’s precision, shot selection, and consistency on the court came through.

On the brink of history, Djokovic conquered the tiebreak, 7-5, to claim his well-earned victory.

Djokovic was crowned the champion of the Australian Open β€” and he is definitely the king of the court, as he holds the most titles in Melbourne.

Now with 22 Grand Slam titles to his name, will it be Djokovic or Nadal to reach 23 first?
