With Alyssa Valdez captaining the Philippines’ SEA Games women’s volleyball team, and many Creamline players making the roster, the recent champs will be back in action soon enough.
Despite sitting out the Creamline Cool Smashers’ recent PVL championship win as she is still recovering from a knee injury, volleyball star Alyssa Valdez will be leading the Philippine National Women’s Volleyball Team at the upcoming 32nd Southeast Asian Games in Cambodia.
This May, Valdez will be replacing the former team captain, Aby Maraño, who just recently announced her retirement from the national team after seven years.
The upcoming SEA Games women’s volleyball team will be made up of a majority of players from the Creamline Cool Smashers.
Jia de Guzman, Kyla Atienza, Ced Domingo, Jema Galanza, Michaele Gumabao, and conference MVP, Tots Carlos will be joining their teammate Valdez in Cambodia this May.
Other PVL star players will also be joining the recent champs, including Cignal players Gel Cayuna and Chai Troncosco, PLDT ladies Kath Arado and Dell Palomata, Choco Mucho athletes Cherry Nunag and Kat Tolentino, and Chery Tioggo representative Mylene Paat.
With this lineup, and with the Creamline ladies’ recent taste of victory, the Philippines will be looking to win a major international medal at the SEA Games, taking place from May 5 to May 17.
Will team Philippines make it to the podium this year?
