Standing on the sidelines of all the UAAP action, Courtside Correspondents have a unique point of view for every game, and they’re eager to share their team’s stories with you.
Anyone who tunes into the UAAP action can create their own game analyses, player assessments, or outcome predictions (we all know a die-hard fan who loves sharing their insights). But there are uniquely positioned individuals who get insider information on all the goings-on in the heat of UAAP seasons. These are the beloved UAAP Correspondents.
Formerly referred to as UAAP Courtside Reporters, these eight correspondents will get to be in the thick of all the action throughout the season, following their assigned team’s players and getting facetime with the coaches, providing behind-the-scenes happenings throughout the eight months.
The UAAP Courtside Correspondents for Season 86 are all excited for the challenge up ahead. Among the eight ladies, three of them will be returning from the previous year, while five new faces will make themselves known in the UAAP scene.
Let’s get to know the storytellers for UAAP Season 86!
Familiar Faces
Janna Ehido — Adamson University
Janna told countless stories about the Soaring Falcons in the past year, and she is back for another exciting season.
A sophomore in AB Communication at Ateneo, Janna has a lot of experience despite her young age. She won the first-ever Formula 1 DHL Commentator Challenge in late 2021 before becoming a guest commentator in F1 just three months later.
Allison Co — University of the East
Despite being a student at Ateneo, Allison became a true-blooded Red Warrior in Season 85 when she first became UE’s correspondent. This year, it’s going to be even more red for her as UE will be hosting the season, with Allison continuing to cover the sidelines.
Carla Elizaga — University of the Philippines
Carla is eager to shout “UP FIGHT!” once again as she returns for another season of duty with her beloved Fighting Maroons. She is an Industrial Engineering student at UP Diliman and the school’s correspondent and is also a student jockey for a radio station.
Fresh Talent
Rocio Trillo — Ateneo de Manila University
Sharing the untold stories of the Blue Eagles this year is Rocio Trillo.
Rocio, a sophomore at Ateneo majoring in AB Diplomacy and International Relations, is excited to spread her wings even more as a correspondent. She currently manages social media for the Ateneo men’s basketball squad and will now share relatable narratives not just from the basketball team but from all of Ateneo’s athletes.
Patrice Dabao — De La Salle University
While being a part of La Salle sports is not new for Patrice Dabao, she is about to take a big step forward as the Green Archers’ correspondent for this season.
Patrice, pursuing Interdisciplinary Business Studies at De La Salle University, was a member of the school’s Sports Organizational Social Media Department, where she wrote engaging captions and developed content that resonated with fellow students.
Mae Reyes — Far Eastern University
Ready to showcase her “Be Brave” spirit is Mae Reyes, FEU’s correspondent for Season 86. The Tamaraws will have a multi-skilled correspondent in Mae. She has experience as a student journalist, host, director, and multimedia artist at FEU.
Julianne Ysrael — National University
Having previously written stories for the Young Star section of the Philippine Star, Julianne Ysrael is now ready to face the camera as the new correspondent for National U.
Julianne, a BS Information Technology and Entrepreneurship student at Ateneo, will give her all to become the voice of the Bulldogs in the upcoming season.
Chelsea Rusiana — University of Santo Tomas
The iconic “Go USTe!” chant will have a new voice as Chelsea Rusiana takes on the role of the new Growling Tigers’ correspondent.
Chelsea, a second-year BS Biology student at UST, is prepared to take the next leap in her young career after various hosting opportunities in school in previous years.
With these talented ladies leading the storytelling for UAAP Season 86, fans will surely get to enjoy all the narratives that will unfold over the course of the next eight months.
