We’re giving you an inside look into the classes at Elite Aerial Arts plus a way to try it out yourself!
Looking for a workout that blends artistry, balance, and coordination, and is a full-body workout? You should give a class at Elite Aerial Arts a try!
Elite Aerial Arts is one of Metro Manila’s top dance studios that offers different kinds of dance classes for students of all experience levels. Every week, they host different kinds of classes you can choose from. Pole dancing, aerial silk, aerial hoop, belly dance, street dance, and contemporary pole dance classes are just some of the many you can attend on a weekly basis, and each one is led by a highly experienced instructor who is prepared to guide you through the whole session.
“Elite Aerial Arts’ biggest motivation for our students and our clients is mainly to empower them because our advocacy is to provide formal training to anyone,” Nesh Zamora, a part-owner and instructor, shared with The GAME.
“You just come in, and whatever level you are in, whatever age, whatever weight, there’s no limit — anybody can try and it’s a very inclusive community.”
The GAME got to try out an Elite Aerial Arts class for the first time ever and we’re here to give you an inside look at what you can expect from your first class!
A unique fitness experience
The GAME got to try out Elite Aerial Arts’ Intro to Aerial Hammock class led by Nesh Zamora herself, who helped ease us into the class.
The session began with a warm-up session on the floor to introduce movement to the body before anything else, and once we got on the hammocks, we felt more prepared for the aerial movements.
One of the best parts of the class, especially for first-timers, is that the instructors are very hands-on. In our experience, there were only four hammocks, which allowed Nesh to focus on each of the participants, correct our form if needed, and guide our movements. With this, we felt safe the entire time, and even though this was our first class, the instructor’s guidance empowered us to flow through all the movements, which was the most satisfying part of the entire experience.
It truly is a fitness experience like no other that challenges every part of your body — upper and lower body strength, core control, coordination, and mind-body connection. This is yet another reason why finishing the class felt truly satisfying.
Based on our experience as beginners, we would definitely recommend their introductory classes for beginners. In these classes, the instructors tailor the flow and difficulty of the movements specifically to your skill level, so you can ease into the whole experience of an aerial or dance workout. In addition, their clear direction also helps you feel confident to perform the movements on your own and learn on the go.
You’ll definitely feel the burn from this workout.
For aerial classes specifically, Nesh explained, “It’s a full-body workout. So the class format is mobility, a little bit of flexibility, a lot of strength and conditioning drills geared towards aerial arts. So that means we’re trying to build your pull-up, we’re developing your core, and we try to strengthen the legs as well.”
But apart from the great workout you get from Elite Aerial Arts, what gets their attendees to come back and commit to their weekly classes is the community. As Nesh shared with us, “Everybody is just so supportive, everybody is rooting for you, everybody wants you to nail the skill you’re trying to learn, or the dance you’re trying to get.
“So it’s really the camaraderie and the community that we have [that is my favorite thing about Elite Aerial Arts].”
