Triathlon Races in the Philippines You Can Sign Up For in 2025

By Annika Caniza - February 02, 2025

From entry-level race distances to long, challenging ones — there’s a triathlon for everyone in the Philippines this year.

Participating in a triathlon in the Philippines is a test of both physical strength and mental fortitude, which is why it is such a rewarding hobby that many Filipinos have gotten into over the last decade.

These swim-bike-run events put triathletes to the ultimate test. And if you’re someone who has been bitten by the triathlon bug, you’re in luck, as the Philippines has a host of scenic and challenging races for 2025.

Here are some of the major ones you can sign up for!

TriFactor Triathlon Philippines

TriFactor, an organization that hosts multisport events all over Asia, does not only care about hosting races. More than this, their overall mission is to invite individuals passionate about health and fitness and celebrate what they can achieve.

On February 16, 2025, TriFactor Triathlon Philippines will be taking on the streets of Subic Bay and is inviting triathletes of all fitness levels to participate in any of their race categories: Olympic distance (1,500m swim, 40km bike, 10km run), sprint distance (750m swim, 20km bike, 5km run), standard duathlons (5km run, 40km bike, 10km run), their aquacycle event (1,500m swim and 40km bike), or even a relay following the Olympic distance.

With many categories to choose from, the TriFactor Triathlon is definitely one of the most accessible races to look out for in 2025. You can view more details on the event here

Subic Bay International Triathlon

The Subic Bay International Triathlon — also referred to as SuBIT in the triathlon circles — has long been one of the most highly-anticipated triathlon events in the Philippines, and it is open to triathletes of all levels, including kids!

This year, the annual SuBIT will be held from May 3-4, with many distances to choose from: the standard Olympic distance, sprint distance, or the U15 distance (500m swim, 10km bike, 2km run). For the kids, on the other hand, SuBIT also hosts their annual Super TriKids series, where children between the ages of six and 12 can also test their multisport abilities!

You can find out more information and sign up for SuBIT here

Sunrise Sprint

Looking for a series of short-distance triathlons in 2025? The Sunrise Sprint series is perfect for you. Also known as “S2”, this series invites beginner and intermediate triathletes to race shorter courses, following a standard sprint distance of 750m swim, 20km bike, and 5km run.

This year, the Sunrise Sprint will be hosted in Puerto Princesa on March 2, Bohol on July 13, and finally, Subic Bay on October 12.

The shorter distances can also act as training grounds for triathletes who may be looking to build up to the longer race distances (like a full IRONMAN). Ready to get your journey started? You can find out more here

5150 Triathlon

Looking for a race-cation? This year’s 5150 is a great excuse to go on an out-of-town trip with your beloved bike.

This year’s 5150 Triathlon will be taking place in Bohol on July 13. Covering a standard Olympic distance — which adds up to 51.5 kilometers, hence the name of the event — this race will take you through the rolling hills and coastal roads of Bohol, making this a destination race worth the travel.

The 5150 has become a popular race event among Filipinos, and so there may be more coming to the Philippines this year. But while waiting for additional races to the 2025 calendar, you can find out more about the Bohol race here

IRONMAN 70.3

Most, if not all triathletes in the Philippines, have the IRONMAN races on their bucket lists. This is why the IRONMAN 70.3 races have become one of the most popular events in the Philippines — so much so that this year, there will be three.

Covering a challenging distance of a 1.9km swim, a 90km bike, and a 21.1km run, IRONMAN 70.3 is hitting three different cities in 2025: Puerto Princesa on March 2, Cebu on August 10, and Subic Bay on June 15

Pick your poison.
