NBA rising star Jalen Green has landed in Manila for adidas Philippines’ JG4 Manila Tour where he’ll get a taste of Filipino culture.
Yes, you can start freaking out now because Jalen Green is back in Manila for an exclusive JG4 Manila Tour by adidas Philippines.
“It is with great pride and excitement that adidas Philippines welcomes another NBA athlete— and most importantly one with Filipino roots— to the country,” said Jen Dacasin, adidas Philippines Brand Activation Manager.
The JG4 Manila Tour marks Green’s third time in the country, although it is only his first time back as an NBA player. Now, also an adidas Global Ambassador, adidas Philippines has a special trip in Manila set for him.
Connecting with Filipino roots
In case you didn’t know, Houston Rockets player Jalen Green is only the third player in the NBA who is of Filipino descent. But, he grew up in California and spent his entire career playing in the United States.
This makes his trip to Manila all the more special, as adidas Philippines hopes to give him an authentic taste of the everyday Pinoy experience. And having just landed today, the Fil-Am Houston Rockets guard is already getting a taste of just that.
P.S. We’re loving the airport look, Jalen. But of course, we would expect nothing less from this drip king. Knowing that Jalen dresses for every occasion, you can definitely expect our eyes will be peeled for his Manila fits. Lucky for us, adidas Philippines has a lot more in store for him. While he is in Manila, the brand will be taking Jalen on a tour through the city that will show him the local culture, street lifestyle, and grassroots sports in the Philippines.
“We wanted to make sure that we give Jalen this opportunity to see and experience a different and more authentic side of the Philippines as he represents the Three Stripes,” Dacasin shared.
In what they are referring to as “A trip like no other” Jalen Green is going to get the opportunity to connect with his roots, as they take him through the experience of Philippine basketball and street culture. And we all know how basketball-crazy Filipinos are. Jalen will fit right in.
As a Filipino-American, Jalen Green is no stranger to Filipino culture. But as it is only his third time in the country, he’s certain to get a refreshed perspective on what Filipino culture is really like. Although the JG4 Manila tour is an adiClub Members exclusive event, you can still follow the entire JG4 Manila Tour through updates on the adidas Philippines Facebook and Instagram pages.
