Following a successful exhibition match in Japan, retired boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. landed in Manila two nights ago. The boxing legend is here to attend a project for the local health and beauty company, Frontrow.

Arriving in the country in his private jet, he was greeted by Frontrow’s founders, Cong. Sam Verzosa and Raymond “RS” Francisco.

And while he is here on official business with Frontrow, he offered his many Filipino fans a glimpse into what he has been up to recently. Aside from taking a quick trip to the Philippines, of course.

Mayweather in the Building

Floyd Mayweather is Frontrow’s first foreign endorser for their company. To introduce the boxing star, Frontrow president, RS Francisco referred to him as, “the undefeated, the greatest of all time, my personal idol, my good friend whom we love so much, the greatest.”

And as “the greatest”, Mayweather was given the honor of leading the inauguration of Frontrow’s new building. It is located along South Triangle in Quezon City and is set to be named after the boxer himself.

Floyd Mayweather cut the ribbon to officially open Frontrow’s new headquarters, “The Money” Mayweather Building, “The Home of Champions”.

In an interview with News5, the fighter shared, “I worked with Frontrow before, I’m back to work with them again. I’m always here for them and they have always been there for me.”

“My adoptive home”

As part of his four-day trip here to Manila, Floyd Mayweather also held a media conference, where we got to learn more about what he has been up to.

Apart from fighting in exhibition matches (and still winning), the retired boxer has been focusing on aspects of his life outside of boxing. At the media conference, he revealed that a documentary series about him will be coming out in 2023.

As one of the most successful fighters of all time, with 50 wins, 27 by knockouts, this is definitely a documentary to watch out for. He shared that the series will showcase a behind-the-scenes look into his life over the last 26 years.

But away from the cameras, Mayweather is a family man. “I’m a family man. A person who loves his children, a person who loves his mother and his father. Am a person who loves to go skating, go to the movies, and spend time with my loved ones. That’s who I am,” he shared.

Even on a business trip, his fans were delighted to get to see the boxing legend talk about his personal life. And, as his second trip to the Philippines, he even shared how he values the community of the country.

“Anyone that’s watching right now, you should travel to the Philippines,” he said.

“I feel like the Philippines is my adoptive home. I feel like family when I come here. You guys embrace me with open arms. You guys treat me so well,” he shared further.

With his love for the country, the people, and now, the new building in his name, perhaps we will be seeing more of the athlete in the future.
