It’s hard to do much when it’s raining. The cold weather makes it hard to wake up, the rain makes it hard to get outside, and the dark clouds just make you feel like you wanna lie in bed with movies all day.
We got you. Here are three sports movies to keep you company and brighten your spirits this rainy season.
Rise
Here’s one that will keep you company throughout the rainy season and the NBA off-season. Rise tells the true story of the star of the Bucks, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and his family’s journey to where they are today.
You know they wouldn’t turn this into a movie if it wasn’t going to be a tear-jerker. But TBH, what sports movies aren’t? You can stream it on Disney Plus (go ahead, call your friend whose account you’ve been leeching off of).
American Underdog
American Underdog is one of the most underrated sports movies. It’s an incredibly inspiring biopic that shows the journey of American Football player Kurt Warner. And if you don’t know who that is, we recommend you don’t google his name and just watch this film instead.
Trust us, you don’t need to be a fan of American Football for this movie to tug on your heartstrings.
Hustle
One of the best sports movies of the year thus far, Hustle is not one to scroll past when you’re browsing through Netflix. The movie tells the story of an NBA scout played by Adam Sandler, who discovers talent overseas and prepares his player for the NBA draft.

This one’s got a lot of heart. And, as a bonus for you basketball fans, a handful of your favorite stars appear in the movie.
The weather and the gloom might be keeping you inside for now. So in between the games on TV, these movies will keep you company like the warm blanket you need.
