From Beaches to Cities: Here Are Kianna Dy’s Top 3 Travel Destinations

By RJ Ballecer - July 08, 2025

Volleyball star Kim Kianna Dy gives a quick list of her top travel destinations at home and around the world.

Whether it’s during the offseason or the holidays, traveling has always been part of Kim Kianna Dy’s favorite activities to relax and recharge. From slaying it on the Philippines’ many beaches, to experiencing various cultures around the world, one thing’s for sure, and this local volleyball star is a well-traveled one.

In a short exclusive interview with The GAME, Kianna Dy revealed her top travel destinations to date.

Japan

First up on Kianna’s list is Japan, a country that boasts modern cities, all while maintaining a rich connection to its cultural heritage. Kianna, however, has another set of reasons to love Japan, alongside the unique variety of activities to enjoy.

Kianna described Japan as a “slow-paced country” in her chat with The GAME, while pointing out that it is also home to her longtime partner, Dwight Ramos, who currently plays for Levanga Hokkaido in the Japan B.League.

“KKDwight” has been going strong since 2020, and as seen in Kianna’s Instagram account, the two lovebirds actually went on a quick getaway to Hokkaido earlier this year. Outside of her recent vacation with “St. Dwight,” Kianna also spent the holidays in Osaka with her family just last year

Given this, it comes as no surprise that Japan was the first country that came to mind for Kianna.

United States

Much like Japan, the United States also has its own diverse set of great travel destinations where one can experience a new kind of culture. Whether it’s the urban jungle of New York or the iconic attractions of Los Angeles, just about everyone can find something they can enjoy when going to the States.

Among the places that Kianna has visited in the States are New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, as seen on her popular YouTube channel and Instagram account. Just last year, Kianna was actually back in LA, this time enjoying a trip with partner Dwight amid the Premier Volleyball League offseason.

Kianna herself admits that “they have everything there”, which is why the States is one of her favorite countries to visit whenever her schedule permits.

Siargao

Sometimes, a trip to the beach is all we need in order to unwind, and Kianna Dy is no exception.

Kianna, though, doesn’t really need to look far given the Philippines’ abundance of quality beaches, such as La Union, Boracay, and Palawan, which have all attracted up to a million tourists per year from both local and international visitors.

But for Kianna, Siargao takes the cake when it comes to a beach trip, sharing, “It’s giving island chill vibes and it’s a different scenery.”

Known as the “Surfing Capital of the World”, Siargao is a destination filled with multiple surfing spots, including Cloud 9, that has attracted surfers of all levels, on top of the trademark picturesque views.

Honorable mentions!

Two more destinations that Kianna mentioned are Boracay and South Korea, which aren’t too far off from the top three that first came into mind.

As mentioned, Boracay has long been one of the Philippines’ most popular beaches and tourist destinations. South Korea, meanwhile, is similar to the United States and Japan, with a variety of attractions and activities that its visitors may enjoy.

Much like her past travels, getting to spend time in these places allows Kianna to experience life and culture outside of her usual life in Metro Manila.

“I just love traveling there, and you get to be in a different part of the world, and not just the Philippines,” she concluded.
