As the first half of the 2024-2025 NBA regular season concludes, these NBA stars’ jerseys were among the top sellers in the Philippines.
Just like that, we’re now entering the final half of the 2024-2025 NBA regular season. At this point, we’ve gotten an initial impression of how our favorite teams are performing, or if our favorite stars have taken a huge leap.
And as the action heats up, let’s take a look at which stars have established themselves as fan-favorites toward the Philippine audience.
According to the NBA Store Philippines, these are the top 10 players with the highest-selling jerseys after the first half of the 2024-2025 regular season.
10. Ja Morant
Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant tops off the rankings with averages of 20.5 points, 7.6 assists and 4.1 rebounds in 29 out of 50 games played this season. It’s been a redemption year for Ja, who was plagued by off-court incidents and a season-ending shoulder injury for the 2023-2024 season.
9. Giannis Antetokounmpo
Giannis Antetokounmpo has firmly established himself as an NBA superstar, which makes it hardly surprising that his jersey is commonly bought by Pinoy fans. His ranking, though, could have been affected by the Bucks’ current form for the 2024-2025 regular season.
8. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
At the forefront of OKC’s return to relevance is Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who has become a ray of hope for Thunder faithful. This marks SGA’s debut in the local Top 10, which will likely improve as OG Pinoy Thunder fans continue rooting for his MVP-level play.
7. Jayson Tatum
More likely than not, Jayson Tatum’s ranking will only stay at no. 7 for the first half of play, given his status as an elite player on an elite team. Given this, it wouldn’t be surprising if JT’s jersey sales increase once the postseason and a bid for Banner 19 comes closer.
6. LaMelo Ball
With his flashy style of play and personality, it’s easy to see the hype behind LaMelo Ball. The Hornets star surely has a budding Pinoy fanbase, with his jersey being the sixth-most purchased in the Philippines. Like SGA, this also marks LaMelo’s first time in the top 10 jersey sales.
5. Jimmy Butler
Despite his issues with the Miami Heat, Jimmy Butler still cracked the top five in terms of NBA jersey sales in the Philippines. But in some ways, this shouldn’t be a surprise given the high points of Jimmy’s tenure with the local favorite Miami crew. Prior to his disputes, Jimmy did lead the Heat into two NBA Finals appearances, including their run as an eighth seed in 2023.
4. Kyrie Irving
As Kyrie Irving settles with the Mavericks, we have been treated to a steady dose of his basketball wizardry. At the same time, Kyrie has been a fan favorite since his days in Cleveland, and this ranking shows that he’s built a strong Pinoy fanbase over the years.
3. Luka Doncic
Luka’s top three status is based on his time as a Dallas Maverick, but it’s a clear indicator that his dazzling play (and looks) have captured the Pinoy fanbase. Things will become more interesting, though, now that he’s playing for a Philippine favorite in the Los Angeles Lakers.
2. Stephen Curry
It’s safe to say that Steph Curry’s Philippine fanbase remains solid, with his jersey placing second in terms of NBA jersey sales after one half of play. But that’s not to discredit Steph’s steady play for the season, where he is averaging 22.1 points on 39.5 percent three-point shooting in 40 games played.
1. LeBron James
Unsurprisingly, LeBron James has the top-selling NBA jersey in the Philippines as of writing. At 40 years old, the King is still playing at an elite level, so it’s easy to see why he’s maintained his fan-favorite status. Not to mention, he’s also playing for the Lakers, which has long been associated with the Philippine NBA fanbase.
Top selling team merchandise
Also according to NBA Store Philippines, Los Angeles Lakers merchandise has been flying off the shelves for the first half of the regular season. Again, this shouldn’t be a surprise given that the Lakers have been the “adopted” team of most Filipino fans.
Coming in a surprise second is the Chicago Bulls, while the Golden State Warriors come in third in terms of team merchandise. The Warriors became a fan-favorite during the late 2010s, and this shows that the team’s popularity remains strong in the Philippines.
Likely due to stars Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, the Phoenix Suns made the fourth spot. Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving’s Mavs, meanwhile, round up the top five in terms of team merchandise sales.
