More than a thousand Filipino skaters came together to celebrate the culture of skateboarding thanks to Vans Philippines.
Popular sneaker brand Vans has always been synonymous with skateboarding, even among people who sport the brand but don’t skateboard. So it was only right for Vans Philippines to join forces with skate communities and local skate shops to commemorate Go Skateboarding Day, an annual event that unites skateboarders around the world to celebrate the culture of skateboarding.
For this year’s event, Vans Philippines partnered with well-known skate shops including The Rail, Calle, and Quilla, to host local skate events at the Metrotent Convention Center in Pasig City.
What is Go Skateboarding Day?
The International Association of Skateboarding first started Go Skateboarding Day in 2004, and since then, it has become the official skateboarding holiday.
Every year, skateboarding communities invite everyone — whether you are a skater or not — to join the festivities! Traditionally celebrated on the summer solstice, the longest day of the year, this celebration aims to foster a sense of unity among skateboarders globally.
Vans Philippines is committed to supporting this vibrant community, which exemplifies their dedication to promoting self-expression, creativity, and inclusivity. This year, the skating brand hosted activities for skaters of all ages to skate, enjoy music and streetwear culture, and connect with other skaters.
With this, every year on Go Skateboarding Day, Vans Philippines encourages everyone to get out and skate and bond with other skaters to help grow the community and highlight their passion for the sport.
