Kiefer Ravena’s exclusive Jordan shoes are an homage to his roots and his passion for the game.
Kiefer Ravena is a trailblazer in the Philippine sports scene. The star basketball player, whom many call the “Phenom,” became the first-ever Filipino athlete to be signed by Jordan, an iconic brand that is all about growing the game of basketball and inspiring the next generation.
Now, Kiefer is making his mark yet again, officially becoming the first Filipino to get the opportunity to have a Player Exclusive from Jordan — a pair of Air Jordan XXXIX with an unmistakable Filipino touch.
The shoe pays homage to the Philippines and expresses Kiefer’s love for his country. The silhouette’s upper, an embroidered textile, features a bright blue color, while the yellow and red details on the tongue, toe, heel, and in the midsole, provide an additional pop of color.
His own logo, the “Point” guard is embroidered on the shoe’s heel. The logo features his initials and a pointing arrow, representing Kiefer’s sharp instincts and directional leadership on the court. Like an arrow, Kiefer’s game is marked by precision, strategy, and forward momentum, reinforcing his role as both a playmaker and leader.
“The colorway of the shoe is clearly inspired by my roots. I’ve always been big on being proud about where I come from, a country that is very passionate and crazy about basketball,” says Ravena.
“From my national team stints since 2008, to where I am now playing professionally in Japan, I wanted to wear a shoe that reminds us of a kid who came from humble beginnings and is now representing a nation on the world stage playing the game he loves.”
The Air Jordan XXXIX features a midsole combination of full-length ZoomX foam and full-length Air Zoom for a premium cushioning experience, while the upper is constructed to secure the foot during explosive changes in direction. Rooted in the motion and emotion of Michael Jordan’s game, the shoe’s design is created for the modern player dedicated to mastering basketball’s most effective movements.
Kiefer Ravena will debut his AJ XXXIX PE on-court this Sunday in Japan. The shoes are customized for sole use by Kiefer and will be on display in Jordan Manila beginning October 27,which incidentally is his birthday.
