Tunnel Vision: The Best Looks From The NBA 2024-25 Opening Night’s Runway

By Annika Caniza - October 23, 2024

Expensive jackets, bold fashion choices, and stunning looks. The NBA is so back!

NBA Opening Night. There’s nothing quite like the panache of the ring ceremony, the first big match-ups, and the players finally getting back to doing what they do best. And as always, they come dressed to match the level of the occasion.

Marking a brand new season with high fashion, these players stunned the runway on the first night of the 2024-25 season.

Jaylen Brown

Jaylen Brown is heading into the NBA 2024-25 season with a lot to prove — or at least that’s what everyone is saying after the Boston Celtics star was left off of the Team USA’s Olympic team for Paris 2024 — and he walked into his first game of the season reminding everyone that he is an NBA Champion.

Brown entered the tunnel wearing a maximalist leather jacket stamped with green prints all over representing Boston’s 18th NBA Championship. The statement piece was designed by Jeff Hamilton, who is known for making championship jackets for NBA legends including Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and LeBron James.

Anthony Edwards

Straightforward, sleek, sharp. We know that Anthony Edwards likes to do his talking on the court (both in his words and in his hooping), and his outfit on the Opening Night of the NBA 2024-25 season is a clear expression of who he is.

Ant stepped into the Los Angeles air wearing a black leather jacket over a pair of black cargo pants and a pair of black sneakers, along with an Atlanta Braves baseball cap and some big wraparound sunglasses. See you on the court, this look said.

PJ Dozier

Taking the opposite approach to his teammate Edwards, PJ Dozier walked into the Crypto.com Arena looking bright and light.

Dozier’s top is a light purple knitted vest lined with a dainty embroidery of vines. This unique piece was designed by the brand Who Decides War and is worth around $1,250. To let the vest truly shine, he also wore it with a pair of white cargo pants and some purple Nikes.

Karl Anthony-Towns

It seems Karl-Anthony Towns is getting acclimated to New York City quite well. The former Minnesota Timberwolves star moved to the Knicks in a three-team trade over the off-season, but KAT is telling everyone he is ready to rep his new city as he traveled to TD Garden wearing a bright yellow New York Yankees varsity jacket.

(Is that a Yankees cap we’re spotting, too?)

Jrue Holiday

Jrue Holiday had arguably one of the most head-turning looks on the NBA Opening Day runway today — fitting for a player whose plays turn heads just as well.

The Boston star walked into TD Garden wearing an oversized black t-shirt tucked into a set of leather overalls. One side of the jumper had to be left undone for the style, factor of course. Do we think that Jrue was catching up on Love Island USA during the off-season and taking notes from Rob’s fashion sense? IYKYK.

Gabe Vincent

Perhaps not as bold a look as we’re used to seeing from the NBA tunnel, but Gabe Vincent’s outfit on the Opening Night of the NBA 2024-25 season had more to it than what might meet the eye.

Vincent’s green-and-white striped tee — perfectly fit for him, which adds to the whole look — is a piece by the Californian streetwear brand Basketcase Gallery, and is a part of their new collection. Wearing this with a pair of light-washed denim and his Air Force 1s, this whole ensemble is a callback to the classic, laidback, and clean streetwear style.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker

Like Anthony Edwards, Nickeil Alexander-Walker chose to come into the first game of the season in an all-black look, but with more street-style flair.

Pairing a suit jacket with shorts (and in this case, baggy shorts) has always been a polarizing fashion choice, even though we’ve seen LeBron James do it time and time again. It definitely ticks the boxes of a style-and-comfort combo, but what say you — are you for this trend?

LeBron James

Speaking of LeBron, King James is continuing to prove that even at 39 years old, he is just as much a great player as he is a great dresser.

LeBron walked into his 22nd season in the NBA — a wild number, to say the least — wearing a double-breasted jacquard wool jacket designed by Louis Vuitton, one of this star’s favorite brands to wear in the tunnel. He paired his luxury jacket, worth around $4,150, with a pair of black slacks and shoes to match. His accessories also take this look to another level of elevated, as the ice around his neck, wrist, and finger definitely shine.

Jayson Tatum

Jayson Tatum walked into TD Garden today with more than just a game on the agenda. Today, the Boston Celtics got to enjoy their championship ceremony where they finally hung up Banner 18 in front of their adoring fans. So of course, JT had to show up dressed for the occasion.

A picture of luxury living, Tatum arrived in a knotted tweed-texture ensemble, a new design by Bottega Veneta. The top alone is worth around $1,310, and though it was enough to get the cameras flashing as he walked in, we’re sure that it probably looked a whole lot better when he walked out wearing his championship ring.

(Bonus points to Deuce with his championship tee and his green printed sneakers.)
