LOOK: Filipino Basketball Fans Enjoy Early Access to the New NBA 2K24

The legacy of Kobe Bryant lives on.

Although the 2023 FIBA World Cup came to an end when Germany defeated Serbia in the finals held in the Mall of Asia Arena last Sunday, September 10, basketball fever is still far from over, especially now that the highly-anticipated NBA 2K24 has finally reached the Philippines!

This year’s NBA 2K game is one that many fans have long been awaiting, as it pays tribute to one of the sport’s legends: the late and beloved Kobe Bryant. In this edition of the iconic game, its 25th anniversary, Bryant is featured as the cover athlete of the game. But apart from just having the legend as the main star of the cover, NBA 2K24 allows players to channel their inner-Mamba mentality through the new Mamba Moments Mode, where players can recreate some of Bryant’s most memorable performances and progress through his career.

With such a special edition, it was only fitting that NBA 2K24 dropped in spectacular fashion at the SM Mall of Asia last September 8, where for three whole days, Filipino gamers and basketball fans gathered to enjoy early access to the game, as well as other cool basketball activities and prizes.

Gaming stations were available at the Mall of Asia atrium, open to anyone to enjoy a demo of NBA 2K24. Fans also got to enjoy one-on-one and three-on-three show matches with special guests at the helm of the event.

Take a look at some of the Filipino fanfare that went down at the NBA 2K24 launch:

Aside from the annual roster changes that come with every new edition of the game, this year’s NBA 2K24 launch has new game modes such as MyNBA and MyCareer.

Fans can get the NBA 2K24 Kobe Bryant and special Black Mamba edition at select videogame retailers. You can also get your copy online at the NBA store, available for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch.
