Every UAAP basketball player has their own style and needs when it comes to choosing the right shoes. These are what they are wearing in Season 86.
In the world of basketball, shoes have become more than just pieces of equipment that help a player compete with comfort and support. With so many different pairs on the market nowadays, choosing a shoe to wear can come down to more than just function — it now also has a lot to do with fit, and kicks can now represent a lot more of a player’s personality.
Wondering what shoes the UAAP men’s basketball players have been rocking throughout Season 86? Here are some college stars’ on-court kicks!
CJ Austria – DLSU
De La Salle University Green Archer CJ Austria wears the Nike Zoom KD 16 EP in ‘Wanda’, a shoe that was designed by NBA player Kevin Durant with a colorway that represents his mother, Wanda Durant.
Harold Alarcon – UP
UP Fighting Maroons star Harold Alarcon has been spotted wearing the adidas Harden Vol. 7 shoes in blue, a model designed by NBA player James Harden. These are definitely some of the most uniquely designed kicks on the UAAP court, especially with the distinct stitching of adidas’ three-stripes logo.
Angelo Crisostomo – UST
A lot of light-colored basketball shoes have been worn on the UAAP court. UST Growling Tiger Angelo Crisostomo wears the ANTA KT Splash 5 in ‘Surf Buster’ — a brightly yet simply colored shoe that has turned heads this season.
Echo Laure – UST
This UAAP season, UST player Echo Laure went for a more neutral yet stylish look, wearing the Nike LeBron 20 in the colorway known as ‘Four Horsemen’.
Reyland Torres – UP
Reyland Torres’ shoe game is definitely up to date as he has been spotted wearing the Kyrie Irving x ANTA Shock Wave 5, which just released earlier this year after NBA player Kyrie Irving signed with the shoe brand.
Francis Escandor – DLSU
In DLSU’s squad, sneakerheads may have noticed that several of the players have been sporting shoes by Serious Player Only. Francis Escandor wears the Game1 model in a fluorescent yellow-green color.
Jonnel Policarpio – DLSU
Jonnel Policarpio, who is having a breakout season for DLSU, also wears a Serious Player Only shoe, taking the court with the Player1 model in a vibrant colorway.
Josh David – DLSU
The third Serious Player Only team member of DLSU is Josh David who wears the Player1 in Plus 4AM — an orange pair with purple details.
Mark Nonoy – DLSU
We have Green Archer Mark Nonoy as another Serious Player Only athlete on DLSU’s team. Sporting his school’s colors, he also wears a Player1 model in ‘Lucky’.
Jack Cruz-Dumont – UE
Jack Cruz-Dumont was one of UE’s biggest stars this season, and his shoes definitely reflected this, as he wears the vibrant PUMA x LAMELO BALL MB.03 LaFrancé Men’s Basketball Shoes.
Jake Figueroa – NU
In a country that loves the Golden State Warriors, we were bound to spot an athlete wearing a pair from Stephen Curry’s line. Jake Figueroa spent the season in the Under Armour Curry Hovr Splash 3 ‘Blue and White’.
Jorick Bautista – FEU
FEU’s Jorick Bautista is another athlete who relies on PUMA, as he wears the PUMA MB.02 Lo Basketball Shoes that have a distinct and unmissable design.
Kean Baclaan – NU
Another NU Bulldog also wears a very distinctly designed pair of shoes. Throughout the season, we’ve seen Kean Baclaan in the mismatched Nike Zoom LeBron NXXT Gen in ‘Promise Multi Color Blue Orange’. Any shoes that don’t match are sure to turn heads.
