Sibol Finalizes Teams Heading to IESF 2024

Sibol Finalizes Teams Heading to IESF 2024

The Philippines is once again ready to hit the international esports stage.

Team Sibol has recently announced its lineup for participating in the 2024 International Esports Federation (IESF) Championships. The multi-discipline event is taking place in Saudi Arabia on November 11 but the qualifiers are just around the corner. This year the Philippines will be participating in the MLBB men’s and women’s divisions, as well as the Dota 2 tournaments.

As the reigning IESF MLBB champions, the Philippines received an automatic slot into the championship this November. Still, Sibol held a combine to ensure that we’re sending our best for IESF 2024. Emerging from the combine was RRQ Kaito, the MDL PH S3 champions.

RRQ Kaito was able to make history in the MDL as the very first team to achieve the perfect season. Going lossless in both the regular season and the playoffs proves that they have what it takes to take on international competition. Supporting them are Falcons AP.Bren’s Michael “KyleTzy” Sayson and coach Francis “Ducky” Glindro, two members from 2023’s championship team.

Earning Our Spot to the Championship

For MLBB women’s we have Omega Empress once again representing the Philippines. The 2023 SEA Games silver medalists have proven themselves to be a rock-solid team with the added bonus of having experience in playing in an international tournament.

The team will have their work cut out for them however as they’ll be participating in the Southeast Asia women’s qualifiers starting next week. Here they’ll be fighting for one of the two spots to enter the Asia women’s qualifier being held in Chengdu, China, later this September. If they manage to make the top three, then they’ll get a chance to compete for the IESF 2024 championship.

Rounding out Sibol’s representatives for IESF 2024 is Execration for Dota 2. The historic Pinoy team has a similar schedule to the MLBB women’s team as their qualifiers also start next week. The top two there will also be heading to Chengdu, where the top four will earn a spot in the championship.

It’s going to be a busy schedule for our Sibol teams and we wish them the best of luck as they represent the Philippines.
