It isn’t often that the ADMU Blue Eagles enter a UAAP match looking to avenge a previous defeat. But after losing to archrivals, the DLSU Green Archers last Sunday, Ateneo looked to bounce back against UST, and boy, they did. The 79-52 win brings ADMU’s record to 3-1.
Although the game started off with both teams close in score, the Blue Eagles went into the third quarter fighting for the lead, ending the quarter scoring 24 points to NU’s 11. In the final quarter, the Bulldogs were still unable to answer back, ending the match ended with a 27-point loss.
After facing DLSU with a two-of-18 shooting, Forthsky Padrigao came back today contributing 20 points, eight assists, and five steals against NU. Additionally, Dave Ildefonso also added 10 points and tallied nine rebounds.
On the other side of the court, Nic Cabañero scored the most for UST, with 12 points to his name.
This Sunday, Ateneo will be going into their UAAP match against the UP Fighting Maroons with confidence, while UST will also be looking to make a comeback from this loss against UE.
