A Little Bit Of Trust Goes A Long Way For Omega’s Coach SN4P

By Ramon Domingo - October 11, 2024

The soft-spoken coach and his players believe in each other, and that’s a difference-maker in the MPL PH.

Omega Esports and Coach Allec “SN4P” Monsseur have had a breakout season in MPL PH S14 and that can be chalked up to the trust the players and coaches have in one another.

After failing to make it to playoffs last season, the team has turned it around in spectacular fashion. They’ve been able to challenge the top teams in the league and now have a chance to take a championship.

Coach SN4P credits this improvement to the deep trust he has with his players. While he’s only been with the team for barely a year, his relationship with them grew at a remarkable rate. “If you remember [Mark “Kram God” Florencio], he used to be my previous teammate in Alpha Esports. I’m really close with him so that’s where my relationship with the team grew,” said Coach SN4P.

It’s a good thing that they quickly took a shine on him as the results speak for themselves. Omega has been at the top of the leaderboard since the start of the season and while they finished the regular season in third place, they capped it off by snapping Fnatic ONIC PH’s 13-match winning streak.

They achieved this with their unique strategies and hero picks, something only possible if the team trusted each other. As for how Coach SN4P was able to get Omega to diversify to this degree, he said “I challenge them. I say ‘If you want to be the best of the best, you need to play this hero. If you can’t, just tell me and I’ll adjust the draft’.”

This may put an additional burden on the coach but SN4P simply believes this is the most effective way to work with the team. “I have to be 50/50 with them. I do my job, they do their job and we’ll adjust to each other. That’s the best approach.”

Either way, Coach SN4P and the rest of Omega trust each other enough to be bold and daring. Something they’ll need if they want to go far in the playoffs.
