Only a few weeks left in the season, and the Bees need to find their footing.
It’s been slow progress for AP.Bren, as they acquired their third win in week five of MPL PH S16 — but can they keep that momentum going? They went 1-1 last weekend, showing that they’re still far away from achieving the consistency that every team is after.
“Magulo, eh,” said AP.Bren’s coach, Jeffrey Manforte plainly to the media after their victory against Omega Esports. “Thankful na naka-come back kami pero ang gulo ng execution namin so kailangan pa linisin.”
That series in particular was quite the rollercoaster ride as it very much was AP.Bren’s series to lose. They dominated game one only to lose game two to their own sloppiness, allowing Omega’s Junger Dean “Raizen” Sumagui a sneaky backdoor play into their base. They nearly got overrun in game three, but managed to last long enough to overturn it in the late game.

The silver lining out of all of this is that AP.Bren’s mental fortitude is getting better. Losing game two in that fashion would be enough to crush the spirit of less-experienced teams. But according to Mid Laner Arvie “Aqua” Antonio, the coaching staff were able to reel them back and keep them composed for game three.
“Tingin ko kulang namin ay chemistry pa rin,” said AP.Bren’s coach Jeff. “Yung execution namin hindi namin makuha ng malinis. Kailangan talaga namin ibigay ng pansin. Kung malinis namin yun, yung macro namin maco-consider ko kaya makasabay sa top three sa MPL PH.”
At least the team is now comfortable enough on the MPL stage to make bold, if rather reckless, plays. Now the question is if they can refine it enough to secure themselves a spot in the playoffs.
