Ankles will be broken as the football star joins the fight in South Town.
Two worlds collide as world-famous football player Cristiano Ronaldo makes his fighting game debut in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves.
Ronaldo’s inclusion in the highly anticipated fighting game has been known for quite some time, just not the capacity. Many were guessing he’d just be a background character you could interact with or maybe another fighter’s alternate costume.
Now we know that he’s going to be a fully playable fighter with all the bells and whistles attached.
If this announcement had come out a few days later, people would have rightfully thought it was an April Fool’s joke. But nope — this is Cristiano Ronaldo alright, visiting South Town to do battle and hone his already masterful football skills.
His gameplay trailer also shows that he’s chock-full of references to both football and his own personal highlights.

Just by looking at his command list will show that he’s a real fighter with a rather exciting gimmick. It seems that he can summon a football that he can attack and interact with.
It’s an interesting direction as fighters that rely on a secondary resource or object aren’t the easiest to play. But when mastered, they can be some of the flashiest and most dangerous fighters around and that seems fitting for a football star like Cristiano Ronaldo himself.

With less than a month left before City of the Wolves’ release, we’re finally getting the full view of the launch roster. Ronaldo’s inclusion certainly adds an extra bit of flair to an already colorful cast but let’s not forget what’s coming in the future. Street Fighter’s Ken and Chun-Li have already been announced as extra downloadable content, meaning the crossovers aren’t done yet.
Pretty soon, we’ll have Ronaldo versus Ken duking it out in South Town’s iconic beach stage. A bizarre reality, but one that I can’t wait to happen.
