The Russian veteran is practically a staple in the M series.
Kemiran “Sunset Lover” Kochkarov and Deus Vult enter the M5 World Championship as clear dark horses. It could be said that they’ve built that reputation since they’ve been a consistent face on the world championship stage.
Deus Vult has been a dominant force in the CIS region and Sunset Lover, together with Stanislav “SAWO” Reshnyak, has been with the team since the beginning. In fact, M5 marks the fourth appearance for the duo, putting them in a small club of most M series appearances.
For Sunset Lover, his ability to consistently play at the highest level comes from one simple thing. “Daily practice and nothing else,” the Midlaner said with a smile.
Rising to the international challenge
In his four years of making it to the world championships, Sunset Lover has seen the progress of other teams. “Each year I see how each team becomes stronger and stronger compared to teams from before. I also see myself growing as a player as well.”
Despite his cheeky answer from before, Sunset Lover is still serious about his growth as a player. “I see other players getting better and better and that’s why I know that I still have space to grow when I compare myself to others.” The improvement has been noticeable as M5 is Sunset Lover and Deus Vult’s best showing on the international stage.
Unfortunately, it’s still the case that he and his teammates are playing in a minor region. He knows that Deus Vult needs more opportunities to test their strength and grow as a team. “We need more practice against international teams, which in turn means more international tournaments and events.”
Hopefully, they’ll get those chances with their performance this M5.
