There were awards for Mobile Game, Developer, Content Creator, and more.
The Mobies (short for Mobile Gaming Awards) was held on July 14, celebrating the best that the mobile industry has to offer.
Organized by the team behind the Esports Awards, the Mobies document, recognize, and reward excellence in mobile gaming. Their panelists include veterans who are in-tune with the mobile industry. One is Jeff “SuiJeneris” Chau, long time mobile esports analyst-commentator and was the GM/Head of multiple esports teams’ mobile division. Another is Diego Soro, technological consultant for mobile for small and large companies such as Accenture.
With industry experts, the Mobies looks to become the event to discover the latest and greatest in the mobile industry, and among them are representatives from the Philippines.
The Philippines’ very own ECHO, the MPL PH season 11 champions, won the Mobies’ first-ever Mobile Team of the Year award. Along with this was the Mobile Player of the Year, which was awarded to ECHO’s Gold Laner, Frederic “Bennyqt” Gonzales.
Unfortunately, ECHO wasn’t able to attend the awarding as they are currently competing in the Snapdragon Pro Series Challenge Finals but they did leave a message showing their appreciation.
Mobile Legends itself also won two major awards. They are the Competitive Mobile Game of the Year as well as the Mobile Esports Tournament of the Year thanks to the success of the M4 World Championship.
Beyond Mobile Gaming, the Mobies also recognized organizations and platforms that have helped define the industry. TikTok won the Mobile App of the Year while Liquipedia won the Coverage Platform of the Year.
