Starting October 14, 17 of the best League of Legends teams will battle it out for the Summoner’s Cup. While this is a step down from last year’s 20, each has been tried and tested in its respective regions. However, two teams in particular will be feeling the pressure early in the tournament.

By virtue of being the top two regions in MSI 2025, Korea’s LCK and China’s LCP are sending four teams to Worlds 2025 rather than everyone else’s three. These fourth-seed teams are kicking off Worlds with a simple best-of-five play-in match. The winner moves on to the Swiss Stage while the loser makes an early exit.

The Swiss Stage returns, with teams winning three matches advancing to the playoffs, and teams losing three matches getting eliminated. All matches are being played at best-of-one, while elimination and advancement matches are best-of-three.

The playoffs are a single-elimination, best-of-five bracket. The key difference to all of this, however, is that every match will be played using Fearless Draft. That means every team’s creativity and flexibility will be pushed to the limit if they want to become the Worlds 2025 champions.
