The latest entry in the long-running series also has something special for its Filipino fans.
The wait is over, NBA 2K25 is here in the Philippines after officially launching in the NBA Store at the SM Mall of Asia. Media guests and fans had an early look at the game in action in the hands of some of the Philippines’ best players.
Paolo Medina of Ateneo and Keegan Yap of La Salle got their hands-on experience in an exciting exhibition match. On top of this, the very first UAAP NBA 2K finalists even got a chance to play against Paolo Madronio and Miguel Hubillar, players from our eGilas team.
These 2K wizards got to try out the game’s new dribble engine and signature go-to shots. Together with the all-new rhythm shooting mechanic, each player had much more control over the ways they can play.
It’s familiar yet different, with a bigger emphasis on authentic movement to truly make you feel like your favorite NBA star.
The big surprise, however, comes from two announcements. Firstly, Pinoy basketball fans can now wear the Gilas Pilipinas jersey in their MyTEAM roster. And to make things even more exciting, the Philippines will also be hosting the official NBA 2K APAC Championship with more details coming soon.
“Obviously FIBA is a big part of the game,” said Wayne Ng, 2K Games Senior Marketing Manager. “Of course, this is the first time that we’re featuring the Philippine jersey and that’s very important to us. There’s a huge community here that’s involved with the NBA 2K so we’re very happy to bring that here and to the rest of Asia.”
“The Philippines is definitely one of our biggest markets in terms of performance, passion, and engagement with the 2K series. It’s something that’s very important to us so that’s why we work so closely with our partners in the NBA so that they can reach their fans who have so much love and passion for the game”
We’ll passionate Filipino fans won’t have to wait any longer as NBA 2K25 is available now on all major platforms.
