The road to the $2,000,000 prize pool is going to be hard but it doesn’t have to be confusing.
Capcom has released the details of its upcoming Capcom Pro Tour 2023 circuit, an international fighting game tournament, and within is a roadmap leading to Capcom Cup X and its mythical USD 2,000,000 prize pool.
Unfortunately, the details might be a little difficult to parse. Fortunately, whether you’re a spectator or competitor, we’ve got a clear breakdown of the CPT 2023 circuit here.
*NOTE: Many dates and details of these events are still to be determined.
The Qualifiers
A total of 48 players can qualify for Capcom Cup X, and these coveted slots are determined through the following:
- The three winners of Offline Premier tournaments
- The 18 winners of Online Premier tournaments
- The 26 winners of the Regional Finals, culminating from the World Warrior circuits
- The winner of the Last Chance Qualifier, held in the same week as Capcom Cup X
CPT 2023 will officially kick off with Evo 2023 on August 4 as the first of the three Offline Premiers.
The World Warrior Circuit
26 different regions will be participating in the World Warrior circuit. Each region will have five tournaments, which will be used to rank players on a regional leaderboard. The top eight players from these regional leaderboards will then play in their Regional Finals, where the winner will get a spot at Capcom Cup X.
There are dozens of cities, states, provinces, and even countries grouped under the World Warrior circuit. You can expect the fighting to get intense for those elusive 48 spots.
