The discourse on who are the top Street Fighter 6 characters has finally begun.
Street Fighter 6 has been out for a while now and many top-level and professional players have put in massive hours trying to figure the game out. There have been common opinions floating around but no one’s stepped up to do what the fans want — make the SF6 tier list.
That is, until now.
Kenryo “Mago” Hayashi has a long history of playing multiple fighting games and is a veteran in Japan’s Street Fighter League. He recently made a video on his early impressions of the power levels of the base Street Fighter 6 cast. Not content with just making a tier list, he also explained in detail his choices and what makes the top tiers in this game so deadly.
The curveball in the list is Cammy sitting in S-tier. Many players have been saying that her incredible agility is not worth the lack of damage she deals but Mago thinks differently. He believes that the Killer Bee is able to get past the strong projectiles that all the S tiers have, which puts her at the top.
Of course, the power-level discussion wouldn’t be any fun if everyone agreed to one tier list. Naoki “Nemo” Nemoto, another prominent Street Fighter pro, also made his own tier list and while the two lists may look similar, he seems rather surprised by Mago’s placement choice for Cammy.
Either way, it’s going to be interesting to see how the SF6 tier lists will change now that international competition and the Capcom Pro Tour is starting soon.
