Even after winning an international trophy under, the Top Lane wonderkid feels like he’s just getting started.
It’s been nothing but a straight line to the top for HomeBois BSE’s GuiYu as the 17 year old top laner is already proving why many see him as a prodigy. His stellar performance in KIC 2025 not only helped HomeBois defend their KIC throne but also crowned him as the Finals MVP.
The usually soft-spoken Wong “GuiYu” Siang was more animated during the post match interview with the media. There was even more fire in him now that he was able to hold the KIC 2025 trophy.

“I think the results prove that I have done much more than any regular player,” said HomeBois BSE’s GuiYu when asked about his FMVP award. He’s definitely proven it not just with HomeBois but with his rather impressive track record. He hit the ground running last year, playing for Weibo Gaming MY to qualify for the HoK Invitational Midseason 2024. While they ended up finishing fifth, it was an impressive showing coming from a relatively inexperienced team.
GuiYu then spent a season playing for Indonesia’s Dominator Esports in IKL Spring 2025. Even at his young age he was challenging and overcoming the veteran players in the IKL, helping Dominator reach a top two finish. After a disappointing EWC 2025 run, GuiYu returned home to Malaysia to play with HomeBois, and the rest is history.
The Strength of Malaysia
“Malaysia is so strong because we have four very good teams,” said HomeBois BSE’s GuiYu. “So we always train very hard to try and beat each other to qualify for international tournaments. That’s why the region is so competitive.”
When asked what he thinks is the edge of Malaysian teams, the reason that makes them stronger than the other global teams, GuiYu believes it’s the ease of communicating with Chinese players and coaches. No doubt an observation he’s made after playing in another region.

“Language is one of the biggest advantages of Malaysian teams because we can speak Chinese. It makes it easier for us to train and get help from Chinese coaches and players. It’s much more difficult for other regions.”
On that note, GuiYu revealed that he has no plans on leaving Malaysia anytime soon. Partly because it’s his home and he likes the feeling of winning with a team from his own country. And the other reason is because playing in Malaysia is his best chance of achieving his goal.
“My goal is to become the best Top Laner in all of HoK,” said HomeBois BSE’s GuiYu. There was an unshakable confidence behind his reply. And at 17 years old, the kid just might have what it takes to make that goal a reality.
