That’s another world championship award for the Philippines.
The wait is over as the ONIC Philippines champion skin has been confirmed to be as the electrifying leonin assassin, Joy.
This is part of their reward as the M6 world champions and will be co-designed with developers MOONTON Games. ONIC Philippines had a near-flawless run at the world’s biggest MLBB tournament held in Kuala Lumpur last December. This in-game cosmetic will commemorate that achievement and solidify the Philippines’ M-series dominance for the last five years.
“Joy herself almost represents ONIC Philippines by her skills and color,” said Paul “Coach Yeb” Miranda, ONIC Esports Vice President for Esports Franchise. “Joy is one of [King “K1NGKONG” Perez’s] signature heroes and as I remember, when ONIC Philippines picked Joy, the crowd went crazy.”
In fact, Joy was picked to be the ONIC Philippines champion skin precisely because of K1NGKONG’s incredible performance at M6. His fearless plays, lightning-fast reflexes, and clutch moments inspired the skin, which will be revealed later this year.
Coach Yeb shared that Joy embodies happiness and excitement, and the team wishes to share those feelings with their community. “Her story is a reflection of our own journey: a relentless pursuit of greatness, filled with challenges and determination. After years of growth and progress, we finally reached the pinnacle of success together,” he added.
One for the Gold Standard of Marksmen
Along with the ONIC Philippines champion skin, Grant “Kelra” Pillas is also co-designing his own finals MVP skin. The “Gold Standard” has shown an outstanding performance not only in M6 as he’s the first-ever player to win all Finals MVPs in three major MLBB tournaments: the Mobile Legends Professional League (MPL), Mobile Legends: Southeast Asia Cup (MSC), and M Series.
“I feel happy and honored to co-design Beatrix. The FMVP skin that I will work on will help signify my legacy in MLBB Esports. I chose her because as a gold laner, I embody some of her attributes, like her ability to adapt and be precise when shooting the enemies,” said Kelra.
MOONTON Games and ONIC Philippines are currently discussing the details of the in-game commemorative skins which are expected to launch in September 2025. Further information about activities leading to the launch will be announced soon.
In 2019, Indonesia’s EVOS Legends chose to provide Harith with a commemorative M-series champion skin. Bren Esports picked Lancelot and Blacklist International designed Estes after both Filipino teams won M2 and M3 respectively. ECHO co-designed a skin for Chou, while M5 world champions AP.Bren designed Brody for their second champion skin. Pacquito was also chosen by David “FlapTzy” Canon for the first-ever finals MVP skin.
