Newlywed and with a new org, it’s a fresh start for the Idol ng mga Kids.
MPL PH S15 is a pretty big milestone for Team Falcons’ Pheww. Not only is he returning with a new organization, he’s also now a happily married man.
Angelo “Pheww” Arcangel tied the knot with his longtime partner, Icey, last November 2024. A joyous moment but for the couple, nothing has really changed between the two of them.
“Sabi nga namin na pagkatapos ng wedding namin, ang magbabago lang yung apelyido niya,” said Pheww with a smile. “Ganun pa rin kami, masaya lang palagi.”
Icey and Pheww have been together since the establishment of the MPL itself and have shared the highs and lows of their careers together. “Manalo o matalo, nandyan siya palagi. Medyo may relief din na kinasal na kami dahil simula season one, since ng start ng career ko, kami na din,” said Team Falcons Pheww.
At seven years of continuous competitive play, Pheww is one of the few remaining players from the early MLBB years. No doubt both he and Icey have grown a lot in that time and now that they’re officially together they can get ready for the next step of their lives.
“Halos buong career ko sa MLBB kasam ko siya. So ngayon pwede na kami maka-focus sa future namin.”
Soaring to New Heights
Of course, the other big change for Pheww this season is his move to Team Falcons although you could say it’s not that big of a change since he’s still playing with the same M5 world champions roster.
It was a rather quiet end of the season for the team when they got knocked out in the lower bracket finals in MPL PH S14. The former world champions couldn’t keep up with ONIC and Aurora but Pheww’s faith in his team has not changed.
“Confident pa rin ako sa team ko kasi kahit sabihin pa namin na lumipat kami ng org, alam naman namin na kami pa rin yun. Kami pa rin yung naglalaro, yung nag-champion. So dagadag confidence yun para sa team namin, lalo na sa lahat ng na experience na namin.”
Still, Pheww is aware that even though they got a much needed vacation, they have some catching up to do. “Kailangan mag-double effort kami. Halos dalwa at kalahating buwan hindi kami naglaro ng MLBB together. Pagbalik namin, sobrang daming changes, sobrang daming adjustments ginawa namin. Maganda naman yung results ng scrims namin pero slowly pa rin namin ini-improve yung form ng team.”
The team as a whole does look reinvigorated, however, and with Team Falcons Pheww at the helm, we can expect this squad to be in championship-winning form.
