If at first you don’t succeed, try and try again, as they say.
For Omega Esports coach Lembot, the primary goal for his team this MPl PH S15 is to remain focused and remain consistent.
For four seasons in a row, coach Lemuel “Lembot” Lucban and Omega Esports have tasted the same, bitter disappointment. Inconsistencies in their play have led the team to middling finishes and early playoff exits. In fact, the only consistent thing you can say about Omega is that they’re just good enough to make it to the playoffs. That’s what the coaching staff wants to change this coming season.
“Tinangal namin yung playtime, yung puro leisure. Tapos mas-focused kami, mas disiplinado,” said Omega Esports coach Lembot. “Puro scrim na kami. Hindi na rin kami lumalabas, yung bonding namin nandun din sa bootcamp.”

That’s not to say that the team has been slacking in prior seasons. But it’s clear that something’s lacking in Omega whenever it is time to lock in when the stakes are high. They may find what they’re missing by doubling down on training, but there’s also the danger of burning the team out. Coach Lembot, however, feels that this won’t be the case.
“Makikita natin pero siguro hindi naman. May pahinga din kahit paano, hindi lang siya yung totally lumalabas kahit regular season.”
As for what to expect for MPL P S15, Omega has their eyes set on the new AP.Bren squad. The team is mainly composed of last season’s MDL champions Lazy Esports but they’ve already impressed many professional teams.
“Kung napanood mo yung laro nila sobrang linis talaga,” said Omega Esports coach Lembot. “Galing sila sa amatuer pero sumasabay sila talaga sa mga pro team. Possible talaga na sila yung magsu-surprise sa ating lahat.”
