It’s All or Nothing For Team Secret at the VCT 2023: Pacific Last Chance Qualifier

By Ramon Domingo - July 18, 2023
This is the Adobo Gang’s second shot at a trip to Champions Los Angeles.

The moment of truth is finally coming for seven teams, as only one of them is making it out of the VCT 2023: Pacific Last Chance Qualifier.

Starting today, for six straight days, the seven remaining VCT Pacific teams will compete in a hybrid elimination bracket to see who will join Paper Rex, DRX, and T1 in Los Angeles Champions 2023.

Seedings are based on the team’s regular season standings, putting the advantage on those who managed to stay on top of the leaderboards. It’s best-of-three, single elimination until the semifinals. The lower and grand finals will both be a best-of-five, leaving no room for doubt about who deserves to move on to the biggest Valorant tournament of the year.

For the Philippines’ Team Secret, it’s looking good for the squad as their 5th place finish landed them a bye into the semifinals. They can’t let their guard down, however, as right below them is Gen.G Esports. It was the Korean squad who knocked Team Secret out of the regular season playoffs in a painful reverse sweep.

On the opposite side of the upper bracket is Japan’s ZETA DIVISION. They placed higher in the standings than Team Secret yet it was the Pinoys who took down ZETA in the first round of playoffs in a convincing 2-0.

With so many teams looking for either redemption or revenge, who will come out on top?
