NAOS Esports Takes Valorant Challengers Philippines 2024

By Ramon Domingo - August 01, 2024

After a hard-fought grand finals, NAOS has another shot at Ascension.

It was a grueling best-of-five series but once again, NAOS Esports rose up to take Valorant Challengers Philippines 2024. The squad triumphed over ZOL Esports 3-2 at High Grounds Cafe, Quezon City, and punched their tickets to VCT Ascension Pacific 2024 happening in Tokyo, Japan, later this September.

From the start of this year, NAOS has clearly shown that they’re the best amateur Valorant team in the Philippines.

The team has a slew of 2-0 victories in both split one and split two of the Challengers Philippines group stages. They’ve only lost three series in this year and they were to their close rivals, ZOL Esports and Oasis Gaming. In fact, ZOL Esports were able to take split one away from NAOS in a convincing 3-1 victory. All that would do was set the stage for the epic runback later in split two.

Split two was even more of a rollercoaster ride as Oasis Gaming managed to end the group stage with a 9-0 series record with NAOS and ZOL Esports following closely behind. However, NAOS was laser focused; first, they sent ZOL Esports to the lower bracket by beating them 2-1 in the semifinals. Then they put Oasis in their place, sweeping them 2-0. Then finally, NAOS faced off against ZOL Esports once again in the closest grand finals in Challengers Philippines history.

After three games going into overtime, and with both teams consistently reaching double-digit rounds, one team was left standing. NAOS will take Valorant Challengers Philippines 2024 and get another chance to ascend to VCT Pacific later this year.
