Omega’s Coach SN4P Reflects on the Team’s Toughest Season

By Ramon Domingo - May 14, 2025

Cohesion is a must for any team and unfortunately, The Barangay just couldn’t come together in the end.

It was a disappointing season 15 all around for Omega’s coach SN4P and team as the team finished dead last in the standings.

Right from the start of the season, Omega Esports looked like they were in rough shape. Things didn’t look any better as the season went on, despite the team and coaching staff’s best efforts. When asked about what he thought was the biggest problem for Omega, assistant coach Allec “SN4P” Alberto was quite frank.

“There was a need for a leader in the team,” said Omega’s coach SN4P. “You can’t just call someone a captain and expect them to do it all. The value of a captain is that he can lift a team up and be a good example to them.”

Coach SN4P hinted that this has been a longstanding problem for Omega. The team has looked directionless and indecisive in games where they don’t have a clear advantage. They’ve tried relying on their veterans like Joshua “Ch4knu” Mangilog in the past but the responsibilities of a leader is not something that any player can just take on. “An alpha in the team, that’s what we needed. Pero with this roster, wala pa siya – even last season wala pa siya.

No Easy Fix

When asked why they haven’t tried tapping into their very successful academy team for potential players, coach SN4P pointed to the difficulty of getting the players stage ready. Academy teams play a majority of their games online and the gap between stage and online play is not something to be ignored.

“Stage time is very valuable, honestly,” said Omega’s coach SN4P. “If you can compare it to MDL Indonesia, their MDL teams all play live. Their playoff pool is really large and they’re all used to playing on stage so stage fright is not there. They’re used to the pressure.”

Regardless, it’s unlikely that Omega’s problems could be solved by just one player. The team needs to remember how to work as a team again and that’s reflected by the biggest lesson coach SN4P learned this season.

“Be as one,” said coach SN4P without a hint of hesitation.
