New maps, balance changes, system reworks are bound to bring something new to the table.
The world of MLBB is about due for a big shakeup and ONIC PH’s K1NGKONG can’t wait to see what’ll come from the Project Next patch. Coming in right at the start of the second half of MPL PH S16, teams will have to deal with a whole slew of changes where the quickest to adapt will come out on top.
Discussions about big, game-changing patches are common in esports. It’s the norm for multiplayer games to get updates and their schedule can’t really be beholden to their competitive scene. While arguments on whether they’re beneficial or detrimental to pros continue, none can deny the excitement they generate. That seems to be where King “K1NGKONG” Perez and his team are right now with MLBB’s latest patch.
“Bago yung patch so isa yun sa nagpu-push pa sa amin sipagin mag-explore, aralin, at magpakababad sa game,” said ONIC PH’s K1NGKONG. “Kahit nananalo kami, mas-nagigigil kami mag-work hard pa, mag-improve pa. Mas-motivated kami ngayon.”
It’s a good sign that ONIC’s down to experiment with the new patch as they’re currently at the top of the standings. They’re going to need to be both creative and flexible if they want to maintain their spot.
“Tingin ko sobrang laki yung bagong changes,” continued ONIC PH’s K1NGKONG. “Sobrang flexible yung patch, lalo na sa nangyari sa Roam. Feel ko yung Roam ang pinakamalaking twist ng game ngayon. Kahit anong role sa Roam, pwede mag-fit sa team as long as mabuo ng tama yung apat na kakampi.”
A Next Flick Superstar
Speaking of being creative, K1NGKONG and fellow teammate Grant “Kelra” Pillas drew quite a lot of attention for their hilarious skit promoting one of the changes in the Project next update.
One has to wonder if the younger MLBB fans will get the reference but honestly, that hardly matters. K1NGKONG and Kelra were absolutely having fun throughout the skit and that energy really helps sell the ridiculousness on screen.
“Sobrang masaya para sa side namin ni Kelra yun,” said ONIC PH’s K1NGKONG with barely contained glee. “Something kakaiba siya sa ginagawa namin sa life namin so sobrang nakakatuwa siya.”
