The Chinese teams put up a fight but there was no stopping the Super Family.
Our M6 world champions continued their winning ways last weekend as ONIC PH took China’s MLBB World Championship Challenge. They took down three Chinese teams in row during their finals showmatch and bagged a 20,000 USD grand prize.
The MLBB Championship Challenge was a celebration of the official launch of the MLBB Chinese servers. ONIC PH and Omega Empress were invited to face off against up-and-coming teams to show what high level MLBB is all about.
Four professional Chinese teams faced each other in a single elimination round robin. The first two matches were a best-of-three while the third decided was a best-of-one. The three teams who made it out of the round robin get to take turns facing ONIC PH. Meanwhile, Omega Empress plays a best-of-one showmatch with the Chinese women’s national team.
Despite being the world champions, ONIC PH really did have a challenge ahead of them as they would have to fight against China’s DFYG, KeepBestGaming, and Rare Atom in three consecutive best-of-three matches. While still a developing region, China has shown that they can hold their own against international competition. DFYG and KeepBestGaming did participate in M6 and Rare Atom is a known organization in multiple esports.

While Omega Empress would fall to the Chinese women’s national team, ONIC PH would show why they’re the world champions. Despite multiple close calls against some highly motivated Chinese teams, the Super Family would prevail in the end. With a record of 2-1, 2-1, and 2-0 to DFYG, Rare Atom, and KeepBestGaming respectively, ONIC PH cleared the gauntlet to take the MLBB World Championship Challenge.
