The 12th ASEAN Para Games was an excellent showing of strength and unity from all players.
In an impressive display of skill and camaraderie, the Philippines went undefeated and took first place in the 12th ASEAN Para Games Mobile Legends tournament. The other participating countries were Malaysia, Cambodia, and Thailand, who each placed second, third, and fourth, respectively.
The Philippine team was comprised of Marvin Angelo Rañon Ignacio (EXP Lane), Mike Ace Chester Canoza Gonzales (Jungler), Joshua Gatela Detera (Middle Lane), Ashly Josh Sisno Paghubasan (Gold Lane), and Jasper Lorenz Desingaño Ambat (Roamer).
Together with them were coaches Francis “Ducky” Glindro and Vrendon “Vrendon Lin” Pesebre who also led the gold medalist Mobile Legends male team in this year’s SEA Games.
This tournament is the very first inclusion of esports and Mobile Legends in the ASEAN Para Games. Therefore it is considered a demonstration event, meaning that no medals will be counted for each country’s total tally. Still, this is a big step forward for disabled athletes looking to represent their country in the future.
