For Team Falcons’ FlapTzy, His Health and Fitness are His Greatest Assets

Staying healthy is a top priority for any competitor or athlete.

Esports isn’t known as a physical activity, but that doesn’t stop Team Falcons’ FlapTzy from working on himself and staying in shape. 

Working out and physical fitness are topics that are still glossed over in the world of esports. Mo, you don’t need to be in top physical condition to play video games, but the benefits of a healthy body can be applied to any field or profession.

That’s something that David “FlapTzy” Canon has taken to heart in his time as an MLBB pro.

Ginagawa ko yung fitness journey ko para sa overall health ko,” said Team Falcons’ FlapTzy. “Kasi lagi ako babad sa MLBB, sa cellphone, so kailangan ma-balance yon. Ang pinaka-importante ay yung health mo pa rin, lalo na maraming tournaments ngayon. Bawal ako magkasakit kasi mahaba pa yung taon. Kaya nag e-effort ako sa pagwo-work out at sa pagkakain ng healthy foods.”

For FlapTzy, working out has only had positive effects on both his personal and professional life. “Sobrang nakakatulong siya kasi nabo-boost yung confidence ko, di lang outside the game pati inside the game. Parang nagiging mas-confident ako sa mga decisions ko.

It’s somewhat surprising to hear that a two-time M-series world champion and SEA Games gold medalist needs a confidence boost. But as he explains, it’s much easier to see your successes when working out.

Mahirap isukat yung lakas mo sa MLBB,” continued Team Falcons’ FlapTzy. “May times na mahina ka, may times na malakas ka, pero pagdating sa gym, natra-track mo lahat ng binubuhat mo. Doon mo nakikita na kaya mo pala to. Natra-track mo yung progress mo na palakas ng palakas ka.

A Bit of Effort Goes a Long Way

Plus, it’s not like FlapTzy is doing a special workout regimen. His usual routine is four alternating splits of upper and lower body workouts, four times a week, max. For him, his fitness journey wasn’t a difficult thing to start, and it’s something anyone can do as long as they have the drive.

Yung mahirap lang sa pagwo-work out is yung pagpunta sa gym,” said Team Falcons’ FlapTzy with a laugh. “Pero once nandun ka na sa gym, parang madali na mag-start. Kung gusto mo talaga yung isang bagay, pagtuunan mo yun ng pansin. So para sa akin, inisip ko lang na kailangan ko gawin to.

It’s really as simple as that. There’s no substitute for a healthy body, and whether you’re a pro or a regular joe, it’s always worth it to take the time to exercise.
