Team Falcons’ Owgwen Keeps His Spirts Up After Second Win

By Ramon Domingo - September 25, 2025

After a four week long drought, the Falcons finally get another win but will it be enough?

At long last, Team Falcons’ Owgwen and crew get the sweet taste of victory after taking down Omega Esports in week five of MPL PH S16. This brings their record to 2-7, which still puts them at the bottom of the standings, but at least it’s not as bleak.

When we asked Roamer Rowgien “Owgwen” Unigo about his initial feelings after the win, there was relief mixed with temperance.

“Honestly, sobrang saya namin kahit second win pa lang kami,” said Team Falcons’ Owgwen. “Small step yon para makapasok kami sa playoffs. Hindi pa rin sure pero gagawin namin yung best namin para maabot namin yung playoffs.”

The Falcons are on thin ice and while another win was sorely needed, there’s still gameplay issues that need addressing. Their recent victory was far from the clean and controlled playstyle that Team Falcons was known for. Still, Owgwen believes that this win was an important step in the process of saving their season.

“Small step yon para ma-boost yung confidence namin,” said Team Falcons’ Owgwne. “Stepping stone din to para makagalaw kami ng maayos sa MPL stage. Kasi pagnandoon na kami, napre-pressure kami noong may lose streak kami. Iniisip namin na gusto talaga namin manalo. Ngayon na nakatikim na kami ng panalo, parang nawala yung pressure na yon.

What’s crucial is rebuilding the team’s morale, as that’s the biggest factor that’s dragging them down. It’s clear that Team Falcons still have the mechanics to match even the top teams but they’ve lost the certainty and confidence that would get them ahead in games.

Will a second win be enough to tip the balance? Hard to say, but at the very least, Owgwen thinks they’re as prepared as they’ll ever be to face the rest of the teams in the league.

“Feel ko ready na kami tapatan yung [top teams] kasi inaaral talaga namin yung playstyles nila. Tsaka matagal na kinakalaban namin sila so pindutan na lang talaga.
