Just a few more adjustments and Team Liquid will be in championship-winning form.
The battle for the top of the standings in MPL PH S16 is getting fiercer and fiercer as Team Liquid’s Oheb believes that they’re finally in form. Team Liquid is right within touching distance of first place despite their slow start to the season.
It’s crazy to think how much a little time off can hamper the progress of a team. Gold Laner Kiel “Oheb” Q.Soriano and other members of Team Liquid refer to it as a reason for their early season woes but it seems like they’ve shaken most of the rust off.
“Feel ko yung first half namin medyo shaky kase nag-break kami dahil sa tuloy-tuloy na tournaments,” said Team Liquid’s Oheb. “Pero ngayon, naka-adjust na kami sa laro namin. Medyo kailangan lang namin i-adjust yung drafting namin.”
While that sounds simple enough to fix, it’s actually quite a big deal for Oheb. In a world where players can gain a lead from the thinnest of margins, any advantage can go a long way for the team.
“Sa mga top tier teams, nakikita ko na magaling lumaro ang lahat ng mga players. Nagtatalo lang talaga sa drafting,” said Team Liquid’s Oheb. “Kung lalamang kayo sa first turtle, sa mga objectives. Ang mga laro dito sa MPL, sobrang layo sa scrims. Sa scrims nagiging puro patayan lang. Sa mga MPL teams, kung sinuman maka-stick sa turtle, sila yung lalamang.”
Readying for Round Three
With that being said, Team Liquid still has a number of things that they can improve. With the second half of the season underway, Team Liquid recently had their fateful rematch with ONIC PH. It was a nail-biter of a series, with ONIC PH once again coming out on top 2-1.
Previously, Oheb expressed his desire to fight ONIC PH again when they were back in form. While they had a much better showing this time around, Oheb was still not satisfied with their performance and can’t wait for their next clash.
“Lagi kami nakukuhanan ng mga objectives. Feel ko pwede gandahin pa yun. Kita-kits nalang ulit sa playoffs,” said Team Liquid’s Oheb with a smile.
