The Cavalry is still looking to prove that they can defend their championship.
It’s been a trying week for Team Liquid’s coach Ar Sy and crew as they’re still working on getting back to their championship form.
The team has had their hands full between their constant practice and the recent big patch update. Many teams are still trying to find their footing with the map changes but it hasn’t been too big a deal for coach Rodel “Ar Sy” B.Cruz.
“Sa mga mapa, wala kami ina-adjust,” said Team Liquid’s coach Ar Sy. “Naga-adjust talaga kami sa playstyle kasi nagkakaroon na ng double fighter. Tapos nadagdagan din yung mga conditions sa bawat roles so kailangan mag-adjust as individuals.”

It is true that a lot more variety has been popping up in terms of hero picks. There’s even been a few unconventional hero picks in unexpected roles in other regions. It’s made drafting more complicated but certainly more exciting and important. Coach Ar Sy however has a very level headed take on all the creative liberties happening in different leagues.
“Hindi siya totally big deal,” said Team Liquid’s coach Ar Sy nonchalantly. “Siguro nagma-matter lang siya sa first Turtle, yung first two minutes, and the rest pautakan na lang kung papaano mo gagamitin yung heroes.”
The coach mentioned that the team’s not against trying out these new picks themselves but that’s a ‘wait and see.’ As mentioned earlier, Team Liquid is looking to refine their gameplay though the coach has a stronger word for it.
“Siguro redemption lang [hinahanap namin]. Mas-gusto namin i-redeem yung laro namin. Like yung season 15 pero mas-malinis pa.”
