By Ramon Domingo - April 12, 2024
2023 truly was one of the biggest years for Philippine Esports, and this was exemplified at the most recent Philippine Esports Awards.

Even with the year in full swing, members of the Philippine Esports community took the time to celebrate the previous year’s success with the 2023 Philippine Esports Awards. It was a night dedicated to all the hard work done last year that truly made it the Taon ng Tagumpay.

Here are some of the biggest winners of the evening.

Francis “Ducky” Glindro (AP.Bren) — It’s no surprise that Ducky won the Coach of the Year award considering he was inaugurated into the MPL PH Hall of Legends last year. His philosophy in both life and in-game has built AP.Bren into the team it is today and their rise to success would not be possible without his guidance. He’s a role model not just to the members of his team, but to all esports athletes in the Philippines.

Of course, these weren’t the only winners of the night. Many individuals and teams worked tirelessly to elevate the esports scene in 2023. Thus, in an unprecedented event, both Mario “Abo” Limos and Carlos Pineda received awards for their contributions to esports journalism. Special mention also goes to AP.Bren for being the winningest team of the evening with six awards.
