The Philippines is Fighting for A Spot in The IESF World Esports Championship 2023

There are only a few spots left for the Championship later this August.

The International Esports Federation (IESF) is holding its Asian Championships this week. This tournament is crucial as the results here will determine which teams will make it to the World Esports Championships 2023.

Two games are featured in the Asian Championships: Mobile Legends and Dota 2. Teams from all over Asia and the Pacific will battle it out to see which five will book their trip to Iasi, Romania.

For both games, eight countries will be separated into two groups of four. They will play a single round-robin to determine which four teams will move on to the playoffs. Playoffs will then be a double elimination bracket to determine who will emerge as the champion.

The five teams going to WEC 2023 will be the top four teams plus the winner of the Last Chance Qualifier between the two teams who finished third in the group stage.

Representing the Philippines is Bren Esports for Mobile Legends and Polaris Esports for Dota 2. Bren are clear favorites to take the tournament, considering that they are SEA Games gold medalists. Polaris, on the other hand, play in Division 2 of the DPC SEA Tour and are looking to prove themselves by making it to the WEC 2023.

You can catch the IESF Asian Championships on their official Youtube and Twitch channels.
