Get ready for two weeks of nonstop Valorant action.

The 2023 Masters Tokyo, the second biggest Valorant tournament of the year, will have 12 of the best teams from around the world duking it out for fame and glory. It will be a packed two weeks starting on June 11 — here’s what you need to know so that you don’t get lost in all the action.

The Teams

The top placing teams in the international leagues of the Americas, EMEA, the Pacific, and the Chinese invitational tournaments, qualified for 2023 Masters Tokyo. The champions of each international league enter as the top seed with EMEA getting an extra slot due to Fnatic, an EMEA team, winning LOCK//IN São Paolo earlier this year.

Top Seed:

  • Team Liquid (EMEA)
  • Fnatic (EMEA)
  • LOUD (Americas)
  • Paper Rex (Pacific)

Lower Seed:

  • FUT Esports (EMEA)
  • Natus Vincere (EMEA)
  • NRG (Americas)
  • Evil Geniuses (Americas)
  • DRX (Pacific)
  • T1 (Pacific)
  • Attacking Soul Esports (China)
  • EDward Gaming (China)
The Format

The eight lower-seeded teams will be split into two groups of four. They will play in a GSL double-elimination format where the top two teams in each group will move on to the playoffs. In the playoffs, the four top-seeded teams and four remaining lower-seeded teams will face off against each other in a double-elimination bracket to determine who will become the 2023 Masters Tokyo champion.

All matches will be a best-of-three except for the lower and grand finals which will be a best-of-five.

The Prize

Teams will be playing for more than just glory and the lion’s share of the 1,000,000 USD prize pool. The champion of Masters Tokyo will also be granting their region an extra slot into the 2023 Champions tournament taking place in Los Angeles later this August.
