TNC’s Bennyqt is Happy to be Back on the MPL Stage

By Ramon Domingo - April 04, 2025

Despite the rough welcome, Bagyong Bennyqt is glad to be back in the competition.

It was a nasty welcoming party for TNC’s Bennyqt as he had to face his former team Team Liquid and M6 world champions ONIC for his first two games. Despite getting served his first two losses, Frederic “Bennyqt” Gonzales can’t imagine himself being anywhere else.

Prior to this, Bennyqt sat out half of the MPL PH S15 in a bit of a sabbatical. He had a rather disappointing end to his season last year which led to Team Liquid not qualifying for M6. Many wondered what he’s been doing before reappearing on the TNC roster and it seems he’s been using that time for his personal growth.

Something that’s been understated is the fact that Bennyqt is back to playing with his fellow M4 world champion Roamer, Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera. We’ll see if the duo still has the synergy that won them championships. (Photo from MOONTON Games)

Back and Still in Form

Bennyqt admits that the break wasn’t something he planned for but he’s ultimately thankful it happened. But now he’s back in the trenches and TNC are poised to be real playoffs contenders this season.

Even though his first two games back were a loss, Bennyqt looks like he didn’t skip a day playing on the MPL stage. He even scored the third Savage, a five-man kill streak, this season in one of their losses. The fact that they were able to stay neck-to-neck against ONIC despite losing to them 0-2 shows that TNC are the real deal. The team is at the cusp and he believes there’s one key thing they need to work on if they want to be more than challengers.

Yung number one factor talaga na lahat kami kailangan namin i-work ay yung patience namin,” said TNC’s Bennyqt.
