Distinguishing yourself multiple times in your rookie season is one way to prove the haters wrong.
Despite the MPL PH S16 getting harder and harder, Twisted Minds’ Sionnn continues to excel against the adversity his team is facing.
As Twisted Minds continues to slide down in the rankings, Miguel “Sionnn” Alcantara keeps distinguishing himself as one of the standout Mid Laners of the season. He was week one’s Mid Laner and MVP, and earned Mid Laner of the week again in week five. Sionnn shines bright amongst the other rookies, and that comes from his simple determination to prove himself.
“Gusto ko talaga patunayan na deserve ko talaga mag-MPL,” said Twisted Minds’ Sionnn. “Tsaka hindi ko naman ginagawa yung laro ko ngayon para sa mga nagdo-doubt sa akin. Linalaro ko yung karo laro ko ngayong para sa Twisted Minds and yung fans nagsu-support sa amin.”
That being said, it seems that his excellent performance has not been enough to keep Twisted Minds at the top of the standings. They’re still a real threat in the MPL, but the team has slowly trended downwards as the weeks went on. Twisted Minds is still feeling positive, however, it’s clear that they need to figure out what they’re lacking.
“Outside the game, wala naman nagbago,” said Twisted Minds’ Sionnn when asked about the atmosphere within the team. “Goods kami, sobrang close pa rin. In-game, siguro nanibago din kami sa mga new maps. Kasi nagbabago yung drafting depende sa mapa. Baka kailangan pa namin mag-adjust ng mas-maige para mabalik namin yung init namin sa MPL.”
And now that the end of the season is getting closer, every game becomes vital to making it to the playoffs. Twisted Minds are still in a good spot, but it’s by no means secure. They’ll need to really come together in the coming weeks if they want to extend their season.
“As long as maganda yung mapakita namin sa remaining games,” said Twisted Minds’ Sionnn about their playoff chances. “Aim talaga namin as a whole team ay maka-playoffs kasi parang malaking achievement na yon, lalo pag bago sa MPL.”
