Saudi Arabia is throwing its weight around in MPL PH. Are we up for the challenge?
The recent news of the inclusion of Saudi Arabia in MPL PH S15 carries with it the potential of the biggest shakeup of the league yet. Team Falcons and Twisted Minds are more than just two new teams joining the MPL; they’re organizations that are hungry for esports glory and have been chasing it for years.
For context, Team Falcons and Twisted Minds already have MLBB teams but they’re stuck playing in their own region. MPL MENA is still a developing region and they’re probably not going to be more than peppy upstarts for the foreseeable future. That’s not good enough for organizations like Team Falcons and Twisted Minds.

Anyone who’s been paying attention to esports knows that these two teams have a presence in other major esports. Some of them don’t have a local scene for them to participate in so what they do is acquire the best team or players to play for them. It’s been a winning strategy for them so far; Team Falcon’s Dota 2 team has been a force to be reckoned with since its establishment and Twisted Minds has Arslan “Arslan Ash” Siddique, the Tekken GOAT, playing under their banner.
That’s what we can expect from Saudi Arabia in MPL PH S15. They have their sights on being the best and they’re not shy about spending the resources to get there. Does this mean Team Falcons and Twisted Minds will have competitive rosters right off the bat? Maybe. Will they try to lure the strongest players in our region to play for them? Most likely.
For now, we have to wait and see how the inclusion of Saudi Arabia in MPL PH S15 goes. Whatever the results may be, Team Falcons and Twisted Minds seem committed to making their presence known in the Filipino MLBB esports scene.
They’re shooting straight for the top and it’s up to our teams to meet their challenge.
