That’s 15 straight wins across three conferences for the PLDT High Speed Hitters.
Even as they reach previously unseen heights in franchise history, the PLDT High Speed Hitters continue to keep their feet firmly planted on the ground.
Following their undefeated runs in the PVL on Tour and Invitationals, the High Speed Hitters are now gunning for a rare three-peat in the 2025 Reinforced Conference, which comes with the bonus of extending a franchise-best winning streak.
Now with a target on their backs, PLDT knows that they can never be content with the level that they show for one game, especially with the competition level they will be facing throughout the import-laden tourney.
“It’s a new conference and each team is has a reinforcement so it’s really going to be a different level so we just focus one game at a time, and we just take it game by game, day-by-day, one game at a time,” said star opposite Kim Kianna Dy, whose resurgence has been instrumental for PLDT’s success.
“We focus lang sa goal and hindi na namin iniisip na it’s a new conference, ‘yung teams, may mga ibang players na pumasok and may mga reinforcement.”
On Thursday, September 16, the High Speed Hitters swept the Choco Mucho Flying Titans to remain unbeaten two games into the Reinforced Conference, while also extending their historic streak to 15-straight wins across three conferences.
Like Dy, captain Kath Arado knows that focusing on the present will be key if PLDT wants to extend its winning ways, which could come with their third straight PVL title a month from now.
“Katulad nung sinasabi ng coaches, kahit nung simula pa lang, hindi pwedeng tumingin agad sa malayo. Dapat ‘yun nga, day-by-day, kung sino ‘yung team na kalaban namin next game, kailangan namin tutukan talaga,” she said.
“Yun nga ‘yung laging sinasabi sa amin, na kung gagalaw kami nang maayos, for sure ‘yung result makukuha namin. So doon naka-focus ‘yung team, ‘yung trabaho muna sa individual kasi as a group naman, present naman lagi kami lahat.”
PLDT will now turn their attention to the Cignal HD Spikers this Tuesday, October 21, at the SMART Araneta Coliseum in Cubao before facing the up-and-coming Farm Fresh Foxies on October 25. The High Speed Hitters will close out Round 1 action on October 31 against the Nxled Chameleons.
